Ownership and Funding: Transparency at VTU Buddy

Ownership and Funding Disclosure: vtubuddy.in

At vtubuddy.in, we believe in radical transparency regarding how we operate and who manages the platform. As a primary resource for VTU students, maintaining trust through clear disclosure of our financial and organizational structure is a core priority.

1. Ownership Structure

vtubuddy.in is an independently owned and operated educational portal.

  • Type: Private/Individual Ownership.

  • Management: The platform is managed by a dedicated team of academic contributors and web developers committed to the VTU student community.

  • Independence: We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a subsidiary of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). This independent status allows us to provide unbiased student perspectives and curated resources.

2. Funding Model

To keep our study materials, notes, and question papers 100% free for students, we rely on a sustainable, self-funded model. Our revenue is generated through the following channels:

  • Digital Advertising: We use industry-standard ad networks (such as Google AdSense) to display relevant advertisements. This revenue covers server maintenance, hosting costs, and domain renewals.

  • Self-Funding: Initial development and ongoing operational deficits are covered by the founders’ personal savings.

  • Affiliate Links: Occasionally, we may recommend educational tools or books. If a user makes a purchase through these links, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to the student.

3. Grants and External Investments

As of the current fiscal year:

  • Grants: vtubuddy.in has not received any government or private grants.

  • Venture Capital: We have no external investors or venture capital backing. This ensures that our editorial direction remains focused solely on student needs rather than corporate profit targets.

  • Donations: Currently, we do not solicit public donations, though we are exploring “Buy Me a Coffee” style community support models for the future.
