Corrections Policy: Accuracy Matters at VTU Buddy
Accuracy is the foundation of vtubuddy.in. Since students rely on our platform for exam preparation and university updates, even a small error in a formula, date, or syllabus link can have significant consequences. This policy outlines how we identify, verify, and rectify mistakes.
1. Identifying Errors
Errors are identified through two primary streams:
Internal Audits: Our team periodically reviews older notes and links to ensure they align with the latest VTU schemes (e.g., transition from 2018 to 2021/2022 schemes).
User Reports: We encourage students and faculty to flag discrepancies. If you find an error in a question paper, a typo in notes, or an outdated notification, please let us know immediately.
2. The Correction Process
Once a potential error is reported, we follow a strict three-step protocol:
Verification: We cross-reference the report with official VTU documents or standard academic textbooks.
Immediate Update: If the error is confirmed, we update the digital file (PDF/Image) or the text content on the webpage within 24 hours.
Version Control: For major study materials, we update the “Last Revised” date at the top of the page so students know they are looking at the most current version.
3. Types of Corrections
A. Minor Corrections (Typos/Formatting)
For simple spelling mistakes or broken links that do not change the meaning of the academic content, we update the page silently to maintain readability.
B. Substantive Academic Corrections
If an error exists in a mathematical formula, a key technical concept, or a question paper solution:
We replace the file.
We add a “Correction Note” at the top of the post explaining what was changed (e.g., “Correction: The formula for [Topic] in the Module 2 notes was updated on Jan 20th to reflect the 2022 Scheme requirements.”).
C. Administrative/Notification Errors
If we misinterpret an official VTU notification (such as an exam postponement date):
A “Retraction & Update” banner is placed prominently at the top of the article.
The headline is updated to include “[CORRECTED]”.
We send an alert through our social media channels (Telegram/WhatsApp) to ensure students who saw the previous version are informed of the change.
4. Our Commitment to Integrity
We do not “hide” mistakes. If we get something wrong, we acknowledge it and fix it. Our goal is to ensure that when a student downloads a paper from vtubuddy.in, they can study with total confidence.
Found a mistake? Please help your fellow students by reporting it to corrections@vtubuddy.in or using the “Report Error” button found on every download page.
